Mofolio is an imaginary ePortfolio tool for collecting details of your qualifications, skills and evidence of your achievements.
Items from your library of experience can then be collected together and re-organised in MP3-like playlists for presentation in various forms - perhaps for a job application or university entry or just to put on your website.
Mofolio sounds like it is only for gangsta rappers - however it's not - it's for everyone. Pimp your life!

Mofolio is a result of my conviction that the emerging world of e-learning needs some good quality usable tools which work for (and not against) the learner (or gangsta rapper or whoever). Using the metaphor of Apple's iTunes seemed like a logical progression from the clunky web-based ePortfolio tools in use in schools and universities at the moment.
Service Orientation
There is a major push in the e-learning community and from funders such as JISC and BECTA in the UK for use of service orientated approaches and open standards. The dream being that the plethora of different systems in use will be able to interoperate. For example there might be a tool used by teachers for getting class lists and taking registers - which talks to the central student records system using a webservice standard called IMS Enterprise. The same standard (and therefore the same SRS) can also be used by other applications around the institution such as the administrative office, the VLE or the parents' web-portal (where parents could perhaps track their child's attendance data!)
There also exist standards for communicating ePortfolio.
It would be important in this respect that mofolio integrates seamlessly with services offered within and outside institutions. At a rough guess I would anticipate that it would be capable of making use of the following (though not dependent on them!)
